1970-1977
The advent of electric motors

The electric motor family is launched. The maximum motor speed at that time is 20'000 rpm. All the motors are fitted with an E-type standard coupling, and they are gradually provided with an internal spray, cooled by compressed air or self-ventilated. Finally, models rotating at 40’000 rpm become established as the market standard. In the 1970s, Bien-Air asserts its expertise in electrical systems, supplying in particular the electronic systems enabling optimum benefit to be derived from its product lines. High-quality hoses are added to the product offering. As for the air motors, they continue to meet the demand of practitioners equipped only with compressed air. It is these motors, whether electric or air-powered, that drive the first handpieces and the first contra-angles, the technology for which is still embryonic.
